**first phase:** mathematical models for astrophysics, mainly relativistic fluids and plasmas.

**second phase:** non linear wave propagation with applications to plasmas.

**third phase:** mathematical models for carrier transport in semiconductor devices. Industrial mathematics. Also, methods for fuzzy arithmetic for sensitivity analysis

Has taught an advanced course on General Relativity in the Institute for Advanced Mathematics “F.Severi”(Rome) in the period February-May 1985.

Also has a research grant from the EU programme TMR, on symptotic methods in kinetic theories, with the Universities of Berlin (TU), Kaiserslautern, Orleans, Pavia, Toulouse, Granada, Gothenburg.

The author is the leader of a research group in applied mathematics which has active collaboration with industry. In particular has had research contracts with the following companies:
